Terms of Service

Version 2026-10-14.2 · Last updated October 14, 2026

1. Agreement

These Terms are an agreement between you and Tedd (“we”, “us”), the operator of the Tedd service. You accept them when you tick the agreement box while creating your account from an invitation, or when you use Tedd. If you do not agree, do not use Tedd. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information and is part of the agreement.

2. The service and the pilot

Tedd is software for organizing and understanding your personal finances: budgets, transactions, net worth, debts and money you have lent, with an AI feature that answers questions about the information you record. It is for personal, non-commercial use.

Tedd is currently an invitation-only pilot. Access is by invitation, features may change, be added or removed, and the service may be interrupted. We may end or pause the pilot, with notice where practical; you can export or delete your information before then.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and live in the United States, and you must have been invited by us. You confirm that you meet these requirements when you create your account.

4. Your account

Keep your sign-in details confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly through the Contact page if you suspect unauthorized access. We recommend turning on multi-factor authentication in your profile.

5. Fees

There is no charge to request an invitation. If pricing is introduced, we will give you the price and included features before you pay, and we will charge you only after you agree to them. Nothing in these Terms creates a subscription or a promise of future pricing or features.

6. Bank connections through Plaid

If you connect a bank, you authorize us to retrieve your account and transaction data through Plaid Technologies, Inc., and you agree to Plaid’s End User Privacy Policy. We use this data to show your information in Tedd. Tedd cannot move money, make payments or initiate transactions for you.

Bank connections depend on Plaid and your bank. We do not promise that every institution, account or feature will be available or work without interruption.

7. Your information and other people's

You keep ownership of the information you enter or import. You give us a limited license to store, process and display it, and to send relevant parts to our service providers (including our AI provider), only to operate Tedd for you and as the Privacy Policy describes.

If you record information about other people, such as who borrowed money from you, you confirm you may keep it for your own personal records and that doing so is lawful.

If you upload a profile photo, it must be a photo you are allowed to use. We keep a small resized copy to show it to you, and we may remove a photo that breaks these Terms.

8. Not financial, tax or legal advice; AI limits

Tedd, including its AI feature, provides information and analysis to help you organize and understand your finances. It is not a licensed financial advisor, accountant or attorney, and nothing it shows is investment, tax, legal or financial advice. AI answers can be incomplete or wrong, and depend on what you have recorded. Check important figures against your own records, and consult a qualified professional before making financial decisions.

9. Data accuracy

Tedd shows data retrieved from Plaid, imported files and information you enter. We do not guarantee that it is accurate, complete or current. You are responsible for checking it against your financial institutions’ records.

10. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use Tedd for anything unlawful or in breach of any regulation;
  • try to access other users’ accounts or our systems without permission, or test their security without our written consent;
  • copy, scrape, reverse engineer or resell Tedd, or build a competing service from it;
  • upload malware, or overload or disrupt the service;
  • upload a profile photo that you are not allowed to use, or that is unlawful or infringes anyone’s rights;
  • use Tedd for a business, or to process other people’s accounts for them.

11. Our intellectual property

Tedd, its software, design and content (other than your information) belong to us or our licensors. While you have an account we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it under these Terms. If you send us feedback, you allow us to use it to improve Tedd without obligation to you.

12. Ending your use

You may stop using Tedd and ask us to delete your account at any time through the Contact page; the Privacy Policy explains how deletion works. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, if we must for security or legal reasons, or if we end the pilot. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as ownership, disclaimers, liability and disputes) continue after your access ends.

13. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent the law allows, Tedd is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

14. Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, savings or data, including from financial decisions you make using Tedd. Our total liability for any claim relating to Tedd is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US$100. Some places do not allow certain limits, so these limits apply only as far as the law permits. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

15. Disputes and governing law

If you have a concern, send us a message through the Contact page first so we can try to resolve it informally for at least 30 days. These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the US state where the operator of Tedd is based, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to any mandatory rights you have as a consumer, courts in that state have jurisdiction over disputes we cannot resolve informally.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We change the version and date above, and for material changes we will tell you by email or in the app before they take effect. If you keep using Tedd after that, you accept the update; if you do not accept it, you can stop using Tedd and delete your account.

17. Contact
